About BTCNostr

BTCNostr is bitcoin meets social: a nostr client with a real in-browser bitcoin wallet, so value moves as easily as words. It's a tribute to BCHNostr, rebuilt for bitcoin on the nostr-client no-build component stack — every feature here is an independent, swappable repo.

Testnet-first: all mechanics are real (keys, transactions, mempool), but sats are free from faucets. Flip one attribute for mainnet when it's time.

FAQ

Is the money real? The transactions are real bitcoin transactions on the testnet chain — the coins have no market value while we're in beta.

Where is my key? In your browser's localStorage, scoped to your nostr account. Back it up from the wallet page. Pocket change only.

How do people tip me? Open the Tip Wallet and press “Put address in my profile”. The ₿ button on your posts lights up for everyone.

Who runs this? Nobody — it's static files on GitHub Pages talking to public relays and mempool.space. Fork it: every part is AGPL.
